Work out percentages three ways in one tool: find a percent of a number, find what percent one number is of another, or find the percent change between two numbers. Pick the question you have, enter the two values, and read the answer.

How this is calculated

A percent of a number multiplies the number by the percent over 100. To find what percent one number is of another, divide the part by the total and multiply by 100. Percent change divides the difference by the size of the starting value and multiplies by 100, so it is positive for an increase and negative for a decrease.

How to use

  1. Choose the type of percentage question you want to answer.
  2. Enter the two numbers the question needs.
  3. Read the result, shown as a percent or a plain number.

Examples

  • Percent of a number: 25% of 200 = 50
  • What percent: 30 is 20% of 150
