How this is calculated
The days-elapsed figure is the exact number of UTC calendar days from the past date to the reference date, so it is timezone-free and includes leap days. The year, month, and day breakdown uses the standard relativedelta convention over the same span.

- What if the date is still in the future?
- The days-elapsed count becomes negative to show the date has not arrived yet, and the breakdown still reports the size of the gap.
- Does it include today?
- The count is the difference between the two dates. A past date equal to the to date shows zero days elapsed.
- Are leap years counted?
- Yes. The day count is a direct calendar-day difference, so every February 29 in the range is included.
