How this is calculated
The tip equals the bill multiplied by the tip percent divided by 100. The total is the bill plus the tip. Per-person figures divide the total and the tip evenly by the number of people. Amounts are rounded to the nearest cent.
How to use
- Enter the bill amount before the tip.
- Enter the tip percent, such as 15, 18, or 20.
- Enter how many people are splitting, then read the tip, total, and per-person amounts.
Examples
- 18% on $85.50, split 2 ways:
Tip $15.39, total $100.89, $50.45 each - 20% on $100:
Tip $20.00, total $120.00
