This calculator converts an annual salary into hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly pay. Set your usual hours per week and the number of weeks you work each year, and it shows what the same salary looks like across every common pay cadence. Use it to compare a salaried offer against an hourly rate or to budget around a paycheck.

How this is calculated

Hourly pay is the annual salary divided by hours per week times weeks per year, which is the total hours you work in a year. The other cadences are simple divisions of the annual figure: weekly divides by weeks per year, biweekly is two weeks of pay, monthly divides by 12, and daily splits the weekly amount across a 5-day work week.

How to use

  1. Enter your annual salary.
  2. Enter the hours you work in a typical week.
  3. Enter the number of weeks you work each year.
  4. Read your equivalent hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly pay.

Examples

  • $52k salary, 40 hr/week, 52 weeks: $25.00/hr, $1,000/week
  • $100k salary, 37.5 hr/week, 50 weeks: $53.33/hr, $2,000/week

FAQ

How is the hourly rate calculated?
The annual salary is divided by your total hours worked in a year, which is hours per week multiplied by weeks per year. For a $52,000 salary at 40 hours a week over 52 weeks, that is 2,080 hours, or $25.00 an hour.
What is the difference between 52 and 50 weeks per year?
Using 52 weeks treats every week of the year as paid. Using 50 weeks assumes two unpaid weeks off, which raises the hourly rate because the same salary is spread over fewer working hours. Pick the figure that matches your actual paid time.
