This calculator shows the profit or loss on a crypto trade once trading fees are taken into account. Enter your buy price, sell price, and quantity, plus the fee percentages your exchange charges on each side, to see your real return rather than the raw price difference.
How this is calculated
The total cost is the buy price times quantity, grossed up by the buy fee. The total proceeds are the sell price times quantity, net of the sell fee. Profit is proceeds minus cost, and the return percent is that profit divided by the total cost.
How to use
- Enter the price you bought at and the quantity of coins or tokens.
- Enter the price you sold at.
- Enter the fee percentages your exchange charges on the buy and the sell.
- Read the total cost, total proceeds, profit, and return percent.
Examples
- 0.5 BTC bought at $20k, sold at $30k, 0.5% fees:
profit $4,875.00, return 48.51% - 1000 tokens bought at $1.20, sold at $0.90, no fees:
loss $300.00, return -25%
FAQ
- Are exchange fees included in the result?
- Yes. The buy fee is added to your cost and the sell fee is taken off your proceeds, so the profit reflects what you actually keep after both trades. Enter each fee as a percentage.
- How is the return percent figured?
- The return percent is your profit divided by the total cost, then multiplied by 100. It measures the gain or loss against what you paid to enter the position, including the buy fee.
