Calculator by Toolsloft ↗

Generate BreadcrumbList structured data so Google shows your page path instead of a plain URL in the search results. Enter one crumb per line and copy the JSON-LD into your page.

How this is calculated

It builds a schema.org BreadcrumbList as JSON-LD. Each line becomes a ListItem with an incrementing position, its name, and an optional item URL, following the format Google documents for breadcrumb rich results.

How to use

  1. Enter one crumb per line as "Name | URL", from the home page down to the current page.
  2. Leave the URL off the last crumb, which is the current page.
  3. Copy the JSON-LD into a script tag of type application/ld+json in your page head.

Examples

  • Home > Blog > Post: BreadcrumbList with 3 items
  • Empty input: Prompts for at least one crumb

FAQ

Should the last crumb have a URL?
It is optional. Many sites leave the current page without a link, so you can enter just the name on the last line. This tool includes the item URL only when you provide one.
Does the order matter?
Yes. List crumbs from the top of the hierarchy down, usually starting with your home page. The tool numbers them in the order you enter, which is the position Google uses to build the breadcrumb trail.
