This calculator gives a rough estimate of your monthly Social Security benefit at full retirement age from your Average Indexed Monthly Earnings (AIME). Use it for a quick sense of your benefit before pulling an official statement from the Social Security Administration. It is a simplified estimate, not an official figure.

How this is calculated

It computes the Primary Insurance Amount using the 2024 bend points, crediting 90% of AIME up to $1,174, 32% of the portion from $1,174 to $7,078, and 15% above $7,078, then multiplies by 12 for the annual benefit.

How to use

  1. Enter your Average Indexed Monthly Earnings (AIME).
  2. Read the estimated monthly benefit at full retirement age.
  3. Read the estimated annual benefit.

Examples

  • AIME $5,000: monthly $2,280.92
  • Annual estimate: $5,000 AIME → $27,371.04 / yr
